Redact sensitive information in any image
RedactPix is a free image redaction tool that runs entirely in your browser. Upload an image, and the on-device AI scans for sensitive text — emails, phone numbers, URLs, card numbers, names, and addresses — then lets you blur, pixelate, or black out each item with a single click. Nothing is uploaded; every scan and redaction runs on your device.
Four ways to redact
- Blackout — a solid black box. The most secure option; original pixels are fully replaced. Best for ID numbers, passwords, and highly sensitive text.
- Blur — a Gaussian-style blur. Natural-looking; good for blurring faces in casual photos.
- Mosaic / pixelate — large blocky pixels. Harder to reverse than blur; good for license plates and text.
- Emoji — cover an area with a sticker. Playful choice for casual sharing.
How it works
- Upload or paste a JPG, PNG, or WEBP image (up to 20 MB).
- Choose Box for precise rectangles or Brush to paint a freehand redaction stroke.
- Click "Scan for Private Info" to let local AI find sensitive content (first run downloads the models once, then they're cached).
- Review detected items in the side list — toggle, re-mask, or delete each one. Undo and redo work everywhere (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z).
- Download a flattened PNG with redaction baked in and metadata stripped.
RedactPix works on desktop and mobile browsers. There is no account to create, no app to install, and no watermark on the output. For more, read our guides on how to blur an image, how to pixelate an image, and how to remove text from an image.
