How accurate is the face detection?
RedactPix uses Google MediaPipe for on-device face detection, which is highly accurate for front-facing and moderately angled faces. Partially obscured or very small faces may be missed — always review the results before exporting.
Is it safe to blur faces of children?
Yes. RedactPix never uploads the image — all processing happens on your device. It is safe for photos of children, students, and sensitive subjects.
Can I blur some faces and not others?
Yes. Each detected face is listed in the panel with a checkbox. Uncheck any face you want to leave visible.
Should I blur or blackout faces?
Blur gives a natural look while obscuring identity. Blackout (solid box) is the most secure — use it when you need to guarantee the face cannot be recovered.
