Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between removing text and erasing text?
RedactPix does not "erase and fill" (inpaint) text — it occludes it with blackout, blur, or mosaic. This is by design: occlusion is more reliable for privacy because the original pixels are replaced, not reconstructed.
Does it work on handwritten text?
The OCR engine is optimized for printed/digital text (screenshots, documents, signs). Handwritten text may not be detected reliably — use manual boxes for those.
